A Lack of Color//Death Cab for Cutie:

One of my Death Cab songs.

Lost In My Mind//The Head and the Heart:

These guys (The Head and the Heart) are one of my favorite bands, and they only have one album out. But still, you should listen to it. When I saw them live (I’d never heard of them before but they were opening for The Decemberists), I got an amazing amount of goosebumps when they performed “Rivers & Roads”. The photos are (as usual) by my other half, Terra Schneider.

Backwards/Forwards//Sarah Jaffe:

I love Futura. And Erin (the girl in the photo). And Terra, because she takes beautiful photos of Erin. And other things. I also am starting a relationship with damask.

Kissing the Lipless//The Shins:

I made this up right quick because my boyfriend bought us tickets TO GO SEE THE SHINS in June at the Fillmore. Couldn’t be happier. I’m also obviously obsessed with this font.

Agnes of the world//Hezekiah Jones:

One of my favorite songs. Check it out here if you have the time.

Photo credit to my dear friend, Terra Schneider. The skies in Texas are gorgeous.

Design practice: Eating Disorder Awareness Week:

I got assigned another design project at work! The nutritionist at the health center asked me to make a flier promoting Eating Disorder Awareness Week and the activities planned for the week, and I had some fun with it. Luckily, she loved it! Again, nothing I do is very fancy or creative, but I’m still learning and hopefully everything I do is better than the last. I especially loved the type I used for “Eating Disorder Awareness Week”; in fact, you can download it here, along with some other really neat fonts. Enjoy!

Diamond Eyes//Zoey Hardwick:

You can find more of Zoey Hardwick’s work, including the rest of this collection for the band Deftones, here.

Design practice:

I’m starting out simple (and probably pretty badly) – but I have to start somewhere, right? The lyrics are from Shake It Out by Florence and the Machine, one of my favorite artists making music right now.

Home Is A Fire:

Bored? Try this:

I stumbled upon this game (nerdy, yes, but oh so fun) the other day and I can’t stop playing it in class – oops! If you want to try out your color skills, follow this link to play Color, designed by Method of Action. Enjoy!
